AGM / Conference
The CCSTA Board of Directors received the final budget report from the 2024 Conference and Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Calgary, AB. The results of the participant evaluation survey and the report from the planning committee indicate that the conference was extremely successful in every aspect. The CCSTA Board would like to thank Calgary Catholic Schools once again for their warm hospitality and leadership towards making the 2024 event a memorable one for attendees.
Planning for the 2025 Conference and AGM in Halifax, Nova Scotia is well underway. The slate of keynote and workshop presenters has been approved by the Board. We encourage everyone to regularly visit our website, where plans will be updated as they unfold. The conference registration and the link to book accommodation at the Halifax Harbourfront Marriott will open in January 2025.
Finance
The Board passed a motion to allocate amounts to the newly created contingency reserve, legal reserve, and opportunity reserve.
Vision to Action Plan 2024-2025
The Board approved its 2024 – 2025 Vision to Action Plan. The plan was developed with feedback from various committees, and it builds on the work that has been done over the past number of years. The goals under the plan include:

To foster communications within CCSTA and the Catholic community

To establish strategic political relationships

To expand communications and relationships with Catholic bishops

Political Advocacy
The Board approved a government relations strategy. The strategy will be used by the Resolutions and Political Affairs Committee and Board of Directors to advance CCSTA’s advocacy efforts for the upcoming year.
Communications
CCSTA has hired a web design specialist to update and improve the website. The Board adopted a Website Content Policy to help administration to address the significant number of historical documents on the current website. This policy will allow the organization to confidently update its website, while still maintaining its rich history. The new website is expected to launch in January 2025.
The 2024 / 2025 Toonies for Tuition materials have been updated with new theme (tied into the
Jubilee theme of hope). The materials for Toonie of Tuition Day can be accessed here.
