As Catholic education leaders from across Canada prepare to gather this June in Winnipeg, anticipation is building for what promises to be a deeply meaningful and energizing few days! We’re looking forward to gathering with members from across Canada to be encouraged in our mission, grounded in our faith, and united in our mission.
Taking place June 4–6, 2026, this year’s gathering invites members into a shared experience of connection, reflection, and inspiration. With a thoughtfully curated program, powerful keynote speakers, and uniquely Manitoban hospitality woven throughout, delegates can expect to leave with a renewed passion for Catholic education and deeper connections with members from across Canada.
We spoke with the organizing committee to learn more about what makes this year’s conference so special:
1. A lineup rooted in faith and leadership
This year’s conference brings together keynote speakers such as Archbishop Murray Chatlain, Archbishop Albert LeGatt, and Steve Angrisano. What inspired the selection of these speakers, and what do you hope their messages will leave with Catholic education leaders across Canada?
Steve Angrisano was the keynote speaker at the NCEA (National Catholic Educational Association) Conference in 2024. He was so inspiring and had such excitement for being involved in Catholic education. He lives his faith.
Our archbishops share close, supportive relationships with the schools. Archbishop Murray Chatlain has a wealth of knowledge and experience in building relationships with Indigenous peoples. Archbishop Albert LeGatt has French Catholic roots, and it is a blessing to have an archbishop in a bilingual archdiocese who promotes and values unity, inclusion, and Catholic faith formation.
2. A uniquely Canadian experience
A highlight of the conference is the evening at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. Why was it important to include this uniquely Canadian experience as part of the gathering?
Our theme “We are all one in Christ” celebrates human dignity. The Canadian Human Rights Museum is a place to meet and dialogue about human dignity and human rights. It is the only National Museum that is located outside of the National Capital Region!
3. Experiencing the spirit of Manitoba
From the Manitoba Social Night to multicultural menus and local hospitality touches throughout the program, there’s a strong sense of regional pride. How are you hoping to showcase the spirit of Winnipeg and Manitoba to delegates from coast to coast?
We are “Friendly Manitoba”; our identity is important to us! The delegates will be immersed in Manitoba culture and hospitality with experiences that will engage all the senses.
As the heart of Canada, we look forward to being a place where east and west unite while celebrating the richness and uniqueness of Catholic education in Manitoba.
4. Renewed purpose for Catholic education leaders
For trustees across Canada who may be considering attending this year’s AGM and Conference, how does this gathering serve as a place of encouragement and renewed inspiration, strengthening them in their important role as leaders in Catholic education?
Our presenters were intentionally sought out to rejuvenate and inspire leaders trusted in Catholic education. It is our hope that they will leave with a greater understanding of the role that they play in recognizing the beauty of the dignity and diversity in the schools and students they serve.
5. Three words that capture it all
If you could describe the 2026 CCSTA AGM and Conference in three words, what would they be, and why?
Exciting — every moment will be filled with Manitoba hospitality.
Engaging — great thought-provoking presenters.
Empowering — you will leave the convention inspired, renewed, and ready to move forward in action.
