The CCSTA Board of Directors received the final report from the 2023 AGM/Convention held in Saskatoon, SK. The results of the participant evaluation survey and the report from the Planning Committee indicate that the Convention was extremely successful in every aspect. The convention committee reported a profit of $23,958.74. The CCSTA board would like to thank Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools once again for their warm hospitality and leadership towards making the 2023 event a memorable one for attendees.
Planning for the 2024 AGM/Convention in Calgary, AB is well underway, and we are expecting it will be another outstanding event. Information on registration will be sent out to our mailing list and posted on the CCSTA website in January. Please visit our website for more information.
Communications
CCSTA recognizes that effective, integrated, and coordinated communication is integral to carrying our mission and vision. CCSTA continues to write, create, and post content toward this objective. New content is posted regularly, in French and English, on our social media platforms and CCSTA website. Beginning this fall, CCSTA will be posting “bite-sized” videos to our social media platforms that will feature messages from our chaplain. Fr. Penna will offer guidance and encouragement to Catholic educators in this readily accessible format.
The 2023 / 2024 Toonies for Tuition Theme is “We, though many, are one body in Christ” (Romans 12:5).The fundraising resources will be updated with the new theme and posted on the website.
Political Advocacy
Plans are underway for our next Lobby Day, which is planned for February 13, 2024. Our consultants from Enterprise Canada will assist with scheduling in-person and virtual meetings with MPs, and will be contacting Garnett Genuis’ office about a possible roundtable. CCSTA will be providing common themes/messages to the Provincial Associations which local trustees can share with their MPs.
