For the past three weeks, the St. Michael Catholic High School students’ council members worked on mugs. The 12 council members would frequently get together in order to complete a secret mission in time for Catholic Education Week.
When the special week launched on Monday, May 2, the students’ council went from classroom to classroom, handing out these mugs – one for each teacher. Altogether, 30 mugs were hand painted and each one was personalized to reflect each teacher’s personality, quirks and hobbies. The teacher found treats wrapped up inside the mug.
This small token of appreciation that happened in this Kemptville, Ontario school truly reflects the values and community that come with attending Catholic schools.
Throughout the week, we’ve heard of wonderful stories of how schools have come together to celebrate Catholic Education Week. From spaghetti dinners to Toonies for Tuition fundraisers, all of these events and celebrations are truly remarkable.
With that, we want you to share your Catholic Education Week moments with us. Mention us on Twitter @CCSTAconnect and include the hashtag, #CEW16, so we can hear about and share your stories.
